Sick house measurement

Measure whether components that can cause sick house syndrome are evaporating indoors before the start of use in public facilities!

Our company conducts sick house measurements (detection of volatile organic compounds, etc.) primarily in public facilities such as schools and workplaces to protect the working environment of students and workers. After ensuring adequate ventilation, all windows and doors are closed to create a sealed measurement environment, which is maintained for 5 hours to secure the measurement conditions. Air is drawn with a pump for 30 minutes, and samples are collected using the "active method" with DNPH cartridges and activated carbon cartridges, or the "passive method" where adsorbents are suspended in indoor air for 8 to 24 hours, as well as the "detection tube method." [Survey Method] ■ Before the survey, open windows and other areas facing outside air for 30 minutes. ■ After ensuring adequate ventilation, close all windows and doors to create a sealed measurement environment, which is maintained for 5 hours to secure the measurement conditions. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Sick house measurement

Information on Active and Passive Methods! Leave the Sick House measurement to us!

Preventive measures against Sick House Syndrome require VOC (volatile organic compounds) measurement. The increase in VOC concentration from items and furniture brought in after tenants move in may cause residents to develop Sick House Syndrome. By conducting VOC concentration measurements before handover and retaining the data, it can be proven that the influence is not from the building, ensuring safety. Our company can perform not only "Sick House Measurements" but also indoor air quality measurements and odor assessments. Please consult us if you have any concerns regarding air quality. 【Active Method Features】 ■ Using a pump, a constant flow of air is forcibly passed through a dedicated collection tube for a set period to collect the target substances. ■ Sampling time: 30 minutes per location. ■ Two measurements are required per location. ■ Measurement time is shorter compared to the passive method. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Indoor Air Quality Measurement - Sick House Measurement

Investigation of chemical substances in sick houses, sick schools, and sick buildings.

Formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds contained in adhesives and paints used in construction are considered to be the causative agents of health issues for residents, such as sick house syndrome and chemical sensitivity, which have been increasing in recent years. The Building Standards Act applies regulations related to sick house measures to buildings that commenced construction on or after July 1, 2003. The Nisshin Environmental Research Center, a registered work environment measurement organization with the Tokyo Labor Bureau, has extensive experience in measuring indoor environments for sick house, sick school, and sick building conditions during new construction and renovations, providing highly reliable measurement results to our clients. We cater to a wide range of requests, from individuals concerned about sick house issues to construction contractors who need to report measurement results to the relevant authorities, so please feel free to consult us. For more details, please contact us or refer to our catalog.
